NATIONAL GAMES ORGANISATION REVIEW, LAUNCH EVENT IN JANUARY 2020; GTCC HAPPY WITH PROGRESS

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant took stock of the situation of the preparations for upcoming National Games and also allotted the functional area responsibilities to the corresponding departments during the organising committee meeting on Tuesday. He also revealed that the state has asked the Centre to provide 50 per cent of the cost of organising and additional Rs 70 crore for infrastructure. Sports Minister Babu Azgaonkar informed that the Games launch event will be held in January 2020 and the process of appointing the Brand Ambassador will start now. Games Technical Conduct Committee chairman Mukesh Kumar expressed satisfaction on the overall progress, especially with the keen interest shown by the chief minister, in view of the Games, which will be held from October 20 to November 4, 2020.

VIDEO: Picking delegates to the Democratic National Convention

At congressional district caucuses on May 21, 2016, Democrats in Washington state chose most of their delegates who will attend the Democratic National Convention in July. Participants were happy to chat about the process, as well as which candidate they support and why.
The congressional district caucuses also finalized how many of the state’s 101 delegates will be awarded to each Democratic presidential candidate. Statewide, Bernie Sanders received 74 delegates while Hillary Clinton received 27, mirroring the results of earlier precinct-level caucuses.
